SUMMERFIELD - A 52-year-old Summerfield woman was so determined to keep her purse, she kicked an attacker, freed herself and staggered into her home to call sheriff’s deputies.
The reported attack took place Tuesday night.
When officials arrived at the home in the 10000 block of Southeast 146th Place, the victim told them she arrived home and drove through a gate. When she went back to shut the gate, she was approached from behind by the suspect.
She told officials the man grabbed her purse so hard it spun her around. She said the man punched her in the face, which dazed her. But the punch didn’t stop her from kicking her attacker in the shins or knees.
The victim had minor injuries on her right cheek, and told officials her head hurt. She refused medical treatment.
She described the assailant as a black male, about 5 foot 10 to 5 foot
11, with long braided hair, who was last seen wearing a short- sleeve dark
shirt and dark pants. She said the man’s fingernails were long and
discolored.
Anyone with any information can call the Sheriff’s Office at 732-9111 or Crime Stoppers at 368-STOP, or log on to ocalacrimestoppers.com.

I think they should legalize open carry.....I think some punk would be a little less likely to try something on someone who has a .45 strapped to their belt, and if they do try something, kill them! Clean up the streets a little...
